Esophageal carcinoma in a pregnant woman who has prior history of gastric cancer

Abstract


Gastrointestinal cancers have been rarely seen during pregnancy. Especially esophageal cancer is extremely rare and only two cases reported in the literature. Diagnosis can be difficult because of symptoms can be masked by pregnancy related conditions and diagnostic aprroaches is restricted in pregnancy. Esophaogogastroduodenoscopy can be perfomed safely particularly in second trimester. In this article, we report a case of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma which diagnosed at second trimester in pregnancy.
