Ira-Ida Skvortsova is Head of the Laboratory for Experimental and Translational Resaerch on Radiation Oncology (EXTRO-Lab) in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology at Innsbruck Medical University (Innsbruck, Austria). She has received her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in 1992. The area of research of Prof. Dr. Skvortsova is cancer biology. The research programme of the Skvortsova’s team is dedicated to the development of novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets to predict and improve tumor response to chemo- and/or radiotherapy.Proteomic approach is widely used to realize the research programme. Dr. Skvortsova is a member of a numerous national and international cancer societies: Austrian Society for Radiation Oncology (OeGRO),Austrian Cancer Society/Tyrol,European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), European Society for Radiation Oncology (ESTRO), European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC). Additionally, she serves on many editorial boards and reviews in a number of peer-reviewed journals including high-impact factor journals. Dr. Skvortsova is permanently being invited to review research project proposals submitted to the international scientific societies; and to provide educational and keynote lectures at international scientific meetings. I.Skvortsova was awarded by a number of national and international prizes for outstanding achievements in cancer biology and radiation oncology.
